Who Can Apply For the Admission Test?

Candidates who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the PU admission test:

  • Candidates who have successfully cleared their HSSC/intermediate or equivalent qualification from a recognized board of education.
  • Candidates who have appeared in their HSSC/intermediate or equivalent qualification annual exams and are awaiting their results can also apply for the admission test.
  • There are a total of 7 categories for the PU admission test. Therefore, students are advised to choose the category that aligns with their relevant academic streams or disciplines.

Admission Test Breakup and Marks Distribution

The admission test will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. The total duration of the test will be 120 minutes, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The admission test carries a weightage of 25% in the overall merit calculation. The test comprises 5 sections, each with a specific number of questions and marks percentage:

How to Apply for PU Admission Test

To register for the PU Admission Test, follow these steps:

  1. Visit your PU admission portal or click on the provided link for PU Admission Test registration.
  2. Fill in all the required details and submit the requested documents.
  3. Download the Fee Challan during the registration process. Remember, the Fee Challan can only be downloaded through the PU Admission Portal.
  4. The Undergraduate Admission Test fee is PKR 1500/-. Once submitted, the test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  5. You can pay the fee at any HBL Bank or UBL Bank branch or through 1Bill using Mobile Banking.
  6. All applicants must upload an image of the proof of payment (receipt) on their portal to complete the application process.
  7. For admission to Engineering Programs at the University of the Punjab, the basis of admission will be either ECAT or NUST Test. No PU Admission Test is required.
  8. Both LAT and PU Admission Test are mandatory for admission to LLB Programs at the University of the Punjab.
  9. Admission notices for all departments, centers, institutes, colleges, and schools of the University of the Punjab can be found separately in national dailies and on the official website of the university.
